Carolyn Ward (she/her/hers) has been an avid creative artist since elementary school, taking her first poetry workshop as a fourth grader. She graduated in June 2019 from Carleton College with a BA in Religion and spent the next five years in Minnesota working as an AmeriCorps Promise Fellow and then employee for Healthy Community Initiative (HCI). She worked for one of HCI's programs known as TORCH, where she supported young people in accessing post secondary education. She now resides in Ann Arbor, Michigan, where she attends University of Michigan as a candidate for their Social Work Masters program. She messes with the written word, homemade greeting cards, and a camera.

Carolyn has many people to thank for nurturing and inspiring her work: Katherine Kummer, Leslie Sysko, Kathy Graven, Robin Richmond, James Harren, Chris Lee, Elizabeth Eppley, Aki Nace, Leah Benson, Millie Frankel, Martha Lundin, Madeline Garcia, Emma Dempsey, Emma Stewart, Julia Ward, Robby Ward, Gina Ward, and Rod Ward. She is also grateful to her big extended family and thoughtful, caring friends.
